Ordering and Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payments on all the major payment platforms via all major bank and credit cards, PayPal, Afterpay, Apple Pay and Google Pay

Can I make any changes to my order?

We try and make orders as quickly as possible, however order processing very much depends on demand, but if we see any changes in time we will try and action them if we can.

Can I get my decals customised or my own designs created?

We're afraid we don't offer custom decals, other than our name decals (top tip - you can use these to create a saying or phrase as well as a name 😀)

All our decals are created here in our studio and it takes a lot of time and love to make them, and whilst we get lots of great ideas, as a small team we just cannot make them happen most of the time.

We still love hearing ideas for future designs though, so please pop them on social media and we will certainly read them.

Can I send decals as a gift?

Absolutely! Decals make amazing gifts.

Let us know by leaving a note in the cart with your order. If you would like we can also enclose a short, handwritten gift message with your decals, some test strips and simple tissue paper wrapping, all free of charge.

If you forget to let us know, don't worry, we do not typically enclose pricing information with the decals. Don't forget to drop the receiver a note to say they are on their way though as we can't share information about who placed the order without your go ahead.

What discounts do you offer?

We offer consistent discounts all year round. More on our discounts here

In short:

  • Our discounts are applied to your order automatically
  • We don't do flash sales and don't take part in Black Friday etc.
  • You won't find coupon codes scattered around the internet

Shipping and Returns

Do you ship internationally?

Yes! We ship most commonly to New Zealand, US, UK, Canada Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore and have free shipping rates for some countries.

Do you deliver to the EU?

We are afraid that the EU made some changes at the very end of 2024 that really disadvantaged smaller retailers like ourselves making it extremely difficult to import into the EU.

Currently we don't ship to the EU, but we are able to send items to Switzerland and the U.K in Europe.

What about tariffs for US customers?

All US customer orders are inclusive of any applicable US tariffs

Are duties and sales tax included for countries outside of Australia?

Whilst we love all of our customers and would love nothing more than to make make this true, we are afraid that all duties and sales taxes that may be charged locally in your country are the responsibility of you, the customer.

Try as we might we cannot be across the rules and regulations of the many countries we ship to, so cannot take any responsibility for any unexpected charges.

How long will it take to get my order?

Decals are dispatched within 1-3 days where possible

We always make and despatch orders asap, but over periods of high order volumes it can take us a day or two longer. Please let us know if you need your decals in a hurry - our customers are very important to us and we will always try to help with any special requirements you may have.

Australia - Standard (Aus Post)

All our items are despatched from the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Estimated delivery within 3-7 business days (depending on region).

Australia - Express (Aus Post)

Estimated delivery between 1-4 days (depending on region). We very rarely see delays with express items and so if you have any time pressure at all, we recommend choosing this service.

For the more remote parts of Australia, the service may take a little longer but we often find that Australia Post sprinkles some magic to get your shipment to you in good time.

International

As timescales vary so much for different regions, please message us at info@littletalltales.com if you want the best up to date estimate for delivery to your part of the world.

What shipping carriers do you use?

We use Australia Post for all our shipments.

We have found that they are the most reliable and consistent delivery partner for Australia. For overseas addresses they will normally handover to the national postal service, whom are again often the most reliable delivery service in-country.

We don't offer courier service as we have found that they are high cost for customers and offer a service that is little or no better than the one we are able to provide with Australia Post.

Can I return my order?

You absolutely can, other than our custom made name decals. We require the items to be returned in new, unused and unaltered condition within 30 days of delivery. You must inform us of your intention to return the item with 14 days of delivery.

Please Note: There is a 7% restocking fee for any change of mind returns. This is due to the banking and processing fees that we incur on every sale even when the item is returned to us.

Delivery Troubleshooting

My tracking hasn't updated, is my order lost?

Often, this is just a case of the package missing a scan and often it will update once it gets to the next stage of its journey. We very rarely see packages get lost, either internationally or in Australia, so chances are your order will be continuing to make it's way to you.

What will happen to my decals if I don't collect them in time?

If your decals were not able to be delivered they may well be waiting for you to collect them - the length of time your postal service/delivery company will keep the decals for you varies. If you do not collect them within this time, they will most likely be returned to us. To find out more about redelivery/refund please see our policies here

I made a mistake with my shipping address. What can I do?

If we've not yet shipped your decals, don't worry, just let us know ASAP! We will get it changed for you.

If we've already shipped your decals there is probably not much we can do and it will depend on whether your local deliverer (ie Australia Post, Royal Mail etc) will allow you to make a change to the address details.

Decal Help and Information

What makes your decals so special?

In your search for decals, we know you've probably been advertised loads of different stores, but we're so pleased that you've made it to ours.

We really mean it when we say our decals are different. Read our guide on decals here. Even if you go on to buy decals from somewhere else, it includes info on what to look for when bringing decals into your home

Are they really that easy to apply?

Yes. We pride ourselves on how easy they are to use. They are as simple as peel and stick, especially our standard tack decals. You almost cannot go wrong with these - they are surprisingly tough and not easy to tear and because they are low tack there is no stress in getting them in the right place first time. They are so easy to use in fact, it's a lot of fun!

The High Tack needs a little bit more care and patience, but it is certainly a world away from applying vinyl decals etc. We recommend having a second pair of hands as they can be fiddly at times - not really for small decals, but certainly for very large or intricate sections. This is just down to the increased strength of adhesive, which means that if the sticky side sticks to itself it can be difficult to get apart again. Having said this we have many, many customers who have told us how much easier they were to use than they expected, which is exactly the way we like it!

Are they repositionable?

You betcha! Our decals are made applied, moved and reapplied many times over. We have many happy customers who have moved house and taken their decals with them (as well as customers who have travelled the world with theirs!)

My decals have arrived, what next?

All our orders will arrive with an information sheet and a wrap around the decals showing what level of stick you have received.

After you have checked that everything is correct, your decals may appreciate being flattened out as they've been curled up for quite a while.

Give the surface a wipe with a slightly damp cloth, let it dry and you are good to go!

* If you have space, it's a great idea to keep your backing paper and mailing tube. You won't believe how easy this will make moving your decals if you need to in the future.

Help! My decals aren't sticking

First of all, consider removing the decals from the wall and place them back on the backing sheet. Loose decals pose a risk to young children and if they peel away from the wall completely they will pick up dust and fluff from the floor only making matters worse.

Secondly, head here and we'll help to troubleshoot the issue.

Can I clean my decals?

We know that accidents happen and that dust etc can build up over time. Our decals don't mind getting wet, but they don't like detergents or being scrubbed.

We recommend using a soft damp cloth to lightly wipe the decals over. If you need more cleaning power than this, the next best thing is to remove the decal from the wall and to run it under a cool tap. It's absolutely fine for both sides to get wet (this is what we recommend doing for decals that have fallen on the floor or picked up a lot of fluff in their adhesive)

Once done, lay your decal sticky side up on a clean surface to dry and then return it to the wall.

I dropped a decal on the floor. How can I get rid of the fluff?

We recommend running the decal under a cool tap. Don't scrub at the adhesive, or use any detergent as this can compromise the adhesive. Just let the fluffy bits sit in the running water and gently move them away with the flat area of your thumb and fingers.

Once done, lay your decal sticky side up, on a clean surface to dry and then return it to the wall.

Are my decals safe?

Yes! We take the quality of our products very seriously and we do not use any PVC, BPA or phthalates in our decals.

Our decals are completely non-toxic, VOC free and are made using materials that have been fire safety tested. They are used around the world in many medical departments, hospitals and NICUs, doctors, nurseries etc.

We advise placing the decals out of reach of little ones as they are not toys and not intended for very young children to play with, especially unsupervised.

I'm moving house. What do I do with my decals?
